"The Story From Here"
A Book Series That Amplifies Community Voices & Creative Storytelling

What Is "The Story From Here"?
The Story From Here is a biennial anthology published by The StoryBridge Network.
Each volume collects powerful true stories and creative writing pieces from our program participants—stories of transition, resilience, identity, belonging, and discovery.
Together, the series creates a literary record that ensures underrepresented voices are seen, valued, and celebrated.
About the Series
Storytelling is at the heart of our work at StoryBridge. With The Story From Here, we bring those voices from our circles and workshops to the page—making them accessible to readers across Canada and beyond.
Each volume highlights a different theme and community: newcomers, youth, seniors, and people experiencing displacement. Rooted in creative approaches like artifact storytelling, these collections reveal how everyday objects, memories, and lived experiences can open powerful windows into identity and belonging.
Volume 1: Coming Spring 2026
The first book in the series—Women’s Journeys of Migration, Memory, and Belonging—features stories from immigrant and newcomer women in Winnipeg. Drawn from our programs The Shoe Project (Winnipeg) and Pathways: Stories of How We Got Here, this collection captures moments of courage, resilience, and transformation through the lens of personal artifacts.
Launches Spring 2026 → Available online via Amazon and in select local bookstores.
Host a Book Reading or Talk
Community groups, schools, and libraries can partner with StoryBridge to host book readings and community conversations. These events spark dialogue, build empathy, and connect audiences with the storytellers behind the book.
Book readings and talks are generally free of cost; however, an honorarium may be expected to offset travel and other expenses.
Donations to the StoryBridge Network are always welcome.
Why This Matters
This project is more than a book—it’s:
-
A platform for visibility in Canadian literature
-
A tool for mental well-being and connection through storytelling
-
A way to preserve memory and personal stories and connect people across generations, space, and cultures.
-
A way to remove barriers so newcomers, youth, seniors, and displaced people can be published authors
-
A contribution to social inclusion and cultural exchange through the literary arts
When you support or purchase The Story From Here, you’re helping us publish new voices, expand access to the arts, and preserve community memory for future generations.
