What Is The StoryScape Youth Program?

StoryScape is a summer program for youth (ages 12–17) that blends storytelling, expressive arts, mindfulness, and resilience skill-building.

Designed for youth who may not attend traditional camps, this program:

  • Supports identity exploration and creative expression

  • Teaches mindfulness and stress management practices

  • Builds resilience and healthy communication skills

  • Combines art journaling, nature-based activities, and community storytelling

Purpose

Today’s youth are navigating complex emotional, cultural, and social pressures—yet many who don’t fit the traditional “high-risk” category still slip through the cracks. Too often, these young people are overlooked, underrepresented, or left without spaces where they truly feel at home.

StoryScape helps fill this gap by offering:

  • A safe space to explore and express feelings through creative storytelling and expressive arts

  • Practical coping tools rooted in mindfulness and emotional literacy

  • Mentorship and peer connections that reduce isolation and foster belonging

  • Opportunities to develop confidence, voice, and self-awareness

  • A trauma-informed, inclusive environment for growth, healing, and discovery

This is more than a summer workshop. It’s a home for youth who are often left out—a stepping stone toward resilience, identity, and thriving.

Spark Change: Our StoryScape Youth Program Fundraising Campaign

Each StoryScape program is a week-long series of workshops and activities designed for youth who are often marginalized or underrepresented but rarely recognized as “high-risk.” We bring these programs to communities across Manitoba, creating safe spaces for mentorship, creativity, and belonging.

Your support helps us provide:

  • Access to free workshops for youth participants

  • Mentorship and facilitation by trained, trauma-informed leaders

  • Creative materials and expressive arts supplies

  • Meals, transportation, and accessibility supports

  • Safe, inclusive spaces where youth can build resilience and connection

  • Provide participants with free access to mentorship, creative supplies, and mindfulness-based coping tools

  • Strengthen community bonds through expressive arts and storytelling

  • Demonstrate your organization’s commitment to youth inclusion, resilience, and mental well-being
