The StoryBridge Network
Transforming Lives Through Storytelling and Community Engagement
About StoryBridge
Founded in 2025, The StoryBridge Network is a community-driven nonprofit that uses storytelling and expressive arts to support mental well-being, build belonging, and amplify underrepresented voices.
We create safe, inclusive spaces where newcomers, seniors, youth, and individuals experiencing displacement or homelessness can explore their creativity, share lived experiences, and build community.
We believe that storytelling is more than a tool—it’s a pathway to healing, identity, and transformation. Through in-person workshops, digital storytelling projects, and public events, we bring people together across cultures and generations to listen, reflect, and grow together.
What We Do
We bring people together through:
-
Workshops that nurture learning, creativity and resilience
-
Storytelling Cafés and Community Events that amplify diverse voices
-
Outreach events that reduce isolation and build belonging
-
Programs to support underrepresented youth
-
Digital, oral, and written storytelling projects that preserve memory and share lived experiences
-
Facilitation and consulting services that help organizations strengthen inclusion and community engagement
-
Volunteer and partnership opportunities that promote intergenerational, intersectoral and intercultural connection
How We’re Funded
Our sustainability model blends:
-
Fee-for-service partnerships with nonprofits, schools, and businesses
-
Annual Conference and retail initiatives like The Story From Here book series
-

Our Structure
The StoryBridge Network is a federally incorporated nonprofit registered in Manitoba. We are governed by a volunteer board of directors and powered by community partnerships and volunteers.
The StoryBridge has a governance board, which provides strategic direction and financial oversight of the organization and its leadership. Board members are not involved in the day-to-today work of the organization or its programming decisions. Our current by laws and policies dictate a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 Board members, and we strive for diversity in skills, training, and cultural backgrounds.
The StoryBridge maintains a core staff of up to three persons, led by the Executive Director/Chief Consultant. We value and depend on the skills, experience, and generosity of volunteers who support our programs, assist with fundraising, event planning and execution.
