StoryBridge uses a distributed leadership model, so volunteers can take on meaningful roles in governance, programs, projects, and organizational development while gaining practical nonprofit leadership experience. Many volunteers start in program or event roles and later move into project leadership or board governance positions.
Are You Looking For One-Off Community Event Experiences?
Our community programs and events thrive because of our event-day volunteers. From greeters and ushers to program assistants and people who help with logistics, setup and teardown, community volunteers play a pivotal role in the delivery of our programs and events.
Volunteer Tiers & Opportunities
We use a 3-tier system to assign volunteers to roles.
Tier 1 Roles are flexible and accessible for individuals with varying levels of availability. The typical time commitment for Tier 1 is 2-8 hours per month, and we usually assign work in shifts.
Typical activities may include:

supporting participant engagement

helping with outreach and promotion
Tier 2 roles offer opportunities to build professional experience in nonprofit program delivery, communications, event coordination, and community engagement. The typical time commitment for Tier 2 is 5-20 hours per month, depending on the role.

Media & Communications Coordinators
Tier 1 roles support governance, strategic direction, and major initiatives while ensuring accountability to the organization’s mission, vision and values. The typical time commitment for Tier 3 is 8-12 hours per month.
