About The StoryBridge Network
The StoryBridge Network is a community-driven organization that uses storytelling and creative expression to foster resilience, inclusion, and social change. Through workshops, storytelling programs, and community partnerships, StoryBridge creates spaces where diverse lived experiences can be shared and valued.
StoryBridge operates using a collaborative leadership model in which volunteers contribute meaningfully to programs, projects, and organizational development.

About the Program: StoryScape Youth Program
StoryScape is a summer storytelling and expressive arts program designed for youth aged 10–16 in Winnipeg’s inner city.
The program supports immigrant, newcomer, Indigenous, and low-income youth through creative expression, storytelling practice, and cultural knowledge sharing. Participants engage in workshops, collaborative creative activities, field trips, and reflection circles that build confidence, communication skills, and a sense of belonging.
The 2026 program includes:

Four weekly cohorts of youth

Approximately 12 participants per cohort

Daily storytelling and expressive arts workshops
-
Cultural sessions with Indigenous and newcomer Knowledge Keepers
-
Guest artist workshops
-
Weekly field trips and collaborative activities

Production of a printed StoryScape youth storytelling zine
Role Purpose
The Program Coordinator – StoryScape supports the planning and coordination of this youth storytelling program.
Working closely with the Executive Director and program facilitators, the coordinator helps organize program logistics, support communication with partners, and ensure that the program runs smoothly.
This internship-style role provides an opportunity to gain experience in youth program coordination, nonprofit project management, and community arts programming.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:

Assisting with program planning and preparation prior to the summer program

Supporting coordination with the host organization and community partners
-
Helping organize program schedules and logistics
-
Assisting with participant communication and registration coordination
-
Supporting preparation of program materials and supplies
-
Assisting with the coordination of guest artists and cultural Knowledge Keepers
-
Supporting daily program logistics during the StoryScape program period
-
Assisting with documentation and evaluation activities
Skills and Qualities
This role is well-suited to someone interested in youth programs, storytelling, arts-based programming, or community development.
Helpful qualities may include:

Experience working with youth or community programs is helpful but not required.

Volunteer Benefits

If program funding is confirmed, an honorarium may be provided in recognition of the coordinator’s contributions. However, this cannot be guaranteed at the time of recruitment.
